Dr. Uitvlugt earned his medical degree from Wayne State
University School of Medicine. He completed orthopedic
surgery residency at Mount Carmel Mercy Hospital, Detroit,
MI. He is fellowship trained in both arthroscopy and foot
and ankle reconstruction. He trained under Lanny Johnson
MD for arthroscopic surgery and completed a traveling AO
foot and ankle fellowship under the direction of Arthur
Manoli M.D.
Dr. Uitvlugt is a member of the American Academy of
Orthopedic Surgeons, American Orthopedic Foot and
Ankle Society, and Michigan Orthopedic Society. He has
an academic appointment for the Michigan State University
College of Human Medicine, and is an MSU clinical
instructor for the Department of Surgery. He serves as
clinical trainer for the Osteopathic Orthopedic Residency
program at MSU.
Dr. Uitvlugt provides care in general orthopedics and has
extensive experience in arthroscopy. He is especially
interested in foot and ankle surgery. He began practice in
1987. Dr. Uitvlugt performs surgery at Ingham Regional
Orthopedic Hospital and outpatient surgery centers.
