Detrisac Hornbach McCardel McDermott Morrison Uitvlugt Zand

David A. Detrisac, M.D.
Dr. Detrisac obtained his medical degree from University of Michigan. He also received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering and his M.S. in Bio-Engineering from the University of Michigan. He completed his internship and orthopedic residency at the University of Cincinnati. He is a member of the American Medical Association, Michigan Orthopedic Society, Michigan State Medical Society, Arthroscopy Association of North America, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, International Arthroscopy Association, and the Ingham County Medical Society. He was president of the Michigan Orthopedic Society and remains on the Legislative Committee. He serves on Michigan State Medical Society Legislative Committee. He formerly represented Michigan as the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons Michigan Board of Councilors and was on State Societies Committee. Dr. Detrisac was Co-chairman of the Department of Surgery at Ingham Regional Medical Center for a decade. He is an assistant clinical Professor in the department of Surgery, Michigan State University.
Dr. Detrisac is board-certified in Orthopedic Surgery and has a special interest in arthroscopic shoulder surgery. He has extensive experience in arthroscopy of all joints and in total joint replacements. He also has experience in interpreting bone density measurements. Dr. Detrisac began practicing in Lansing in 1982. He is married with 3 children.

Erich E. Hornbach, M.D.
Dr. Hornbach is a graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School and the U of M College of Literature, Science and Arts. He completed his training at Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Hornbach completed a fellowship in Hand and Microvascular Surgery at the Philadelphia Hand Center affiliated with Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Hornbach practices in general orthopedics, with a focus on hand and micro-surgery. Additional interests include acute care of tendon injuries, fractures and wrist arthroscopy. He is board certified in orthopedic surgery, and has a certificate of added qualification in surgery of the hand.
Dr. Hornbach began practice in 2001. Dr. Hornbach is married and is a proud new father. He enjoys swimming, sailing, piano and guitar.

Brian R. McCardel, M.D.
Dr. McCardel graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School, he completed his internship and orthopedic residency at the University of North Carolina Hospital, Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Dr. McCardel is board-certified and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. Additionally, his current professional positions include: Additionally, his current professional positions include: Chief of Orthopedics, Sparrow Hospital; Member of Audit and Finance Committee, Sparrow Health System; Board Member, Physicians Health Plan; Case Reviewer, Michigan Board of Medicine, Member, Committee on Health Economics, Michigan State Medical Society, Legislative Committee, Ingham county Medical Society. He is currently chairing the Capital Area Regional Health Information Organization workgroup. Past positions have included: Medical Staff Executive Committee; Chairman of The Department of Surgery; Credentialing Committee, Chairman of Transfusion Committee, and Institutional Research Committee, Sparrow Hospital; Member-at-Large, Executive Committee, Ingham County Medical Society; Ingham County Representative, Michigan State Medical Society; and a Member, Governor's Task Force on Sports Medicine.
Dr. McCardel provides care in general orthopedics and has extensive experience in total joint replacement, fracture care, and arthroscopic surgery. Dr. McCardel began practicing in 1990. He is married with 3 children, and enjoys skiing, sailing, and traveling with his family.

Michael McDermott, M.D.
Dr. McDermott is a graduate of University of Michigan Medical School. He obtained his B.S. and M.S. undergraduate degrees from Michigan State University. He completed his internship and residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the Grand Rapids Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program, Grand Rapids, Mi. He is board eligible with the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He has authored a number of publications and research papers. Additionally, he is a member of the Michigan Orthopedic Surgery Society.
Dr. McDermott provides care in general orthopedics and has extensive experience in arthroscopic surgery, fracture care and total joint replacement. Dr. McDermott began practice in 2006. He is married with three children, he enjoys golf, skiing, running and spending time with his children.

Kenneth M. Morrison, M.D.
Dr. Morrison is a graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine. Dr. Morrison obtained his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University. He completed his residency in General and Orthopedic Surgery at the Medical College of Ohio. He is board-certified and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He has authored a number of publications and research papers. Additionally, he is a member of the Michigan State Medical Society.
Dr. Morrison provides care in general orthopedics and has extensive experience in arthroscopic surgery, fracture care and total joint replacement. Dr. Morrison began practice in 1989. He is married with two children, he enjoys backpacking, cross-country skiing, tennis and auto mechanics.

Gregory M. Uitvlugt, M.D.
(pronounced ITE-VLUCK)
Dr. Uitvlugt is of Dutch Heritage. His last name means "out flight." He is a graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine. He received his undergraduate degree from Calvin College. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Northwest Metropolitan Hospitals affiliated with Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan. He completed an arthroscopy fellowship with Lanny Johnson, M.D. Dr. Uitvlugt is board-certified and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Michigan Orthopedic Society, American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle society, and an Assistant Clinical Professor, Department of Surgery, Michigan State University. Dr. Uitvlugt has a special interest in foot and ankle surgery. He provides care in general orthopeics and has extensive experience in arthroscopy and fracture management. Dr. Uitvlugt began practice in 1987. He is married with four children. His hobbies include hunting, skiing, sailing, gardening, and whatever his loving wife wants him to do.

Abbas Zand, M.D.
Dr. Zand earned his medical degree from Shiraz University in Iran. He completed his internship at Meadowbrook Hospital, in New York, which was followed by, his General Surgery and Orthopedic residency at the University of Arkansas Medical Center. He received his Masters of Healthcare Administration from Western Michigan University. Dr. Zand provides health care in general orthopedics and has extensive experience in arthroscopy and fracture care. Dr. Zand began practicing in 1973.
Dr. Zand is board-certified and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is a member of the Michigan Orthopedic Society, Michigan State Medical Society, Ingham County Medical Society. President, board of directors for Capital Area Provider, P.C., President, board of directors for East Lansing Orthopedic Association P.C., Assistant Clinical Professor for Department of Surgery, Michigan State University. Dr. Zand is married and in his spare time, he enjoys skiing, tennis, music and the arts.
